Nanowar Of Steel

Nanowar Of Steel is a parody metal band that was founded in Rome, Italy, in 2003.
Since 2005, the band has consisted of Edoardo Carlesi (aka Gatto Panceri 666, bass), Valerio Storch (aka Mohammed Abdul, guitar), Raffaello Venditti (aka Mister Baffo, vocals), Carlo Alberto Fiaschi (aka Potowotominimak, vocals) and Alessandro Milone (aka Uinona Raider, drums).

Their first album entitled “Other Bands Play, Nanowar Gay!” was recorded in 2005. The (self) release was followed by numerous concerts throughout Europe. In September 2010, they released their second album “Into Gay Pride Ride”, which was produced for the first time by Christian Ice at Temple Of Noise Studio.

The single “Giorgio Mastrota” from 2012 was an instant success on YouTube and reached over four million views (as of 2023). The song was also broadcast on national radio and television. In 2014, to celebrate 11 years of band history, the CD+DVD release “A Knight at the Opera” was released, further cementing the band’s position as one of the most important Italian metal acts.

In 2016, they independently released the EP “Tourmentone Vol. I” and the first volume of their comic “I Custodi dell’Acciaio Inox”, published by Magic Press. Between 2015 and 2018, they played over 150 concerts, including at the RockHarz Festival in Germany, and headlined events such as Lucca Comics in Italy.

In November 2018, “Stairway To Valhalla” was released, distributed throughout Europe by Audioglobe. This was followed by sold-out club shows in Italy and an extensive festival tour as headliner.

With the release of the single “Norwegian Reggaeton” in July 2019, the band reached a turning point in their career: the song achieved over two million views within two weeks (12 million in 2023). Shortly afterwards, they signed their first contract with Napalm Records and released the single “Valhalleluja” in December of the same year, which has over 8 million YouTube views to date (as of 2025).

After a short European tour in 2020, they returned in 2021 with their first album under Napalm Records: “Italian Folk Metal”. This was followed by a tour of Germany and Italy and an intensive festival season in summer 2022 with over 25 appearances, including at Hellfest in France, the Summer Breeze Open Air in Germany and the Montelago Celtic Festival in Italy.

With the release of “Dislike To False Metal” in March 2023, the band embarked on an extensive tour of Europe and the UK, playing numerous sold-out shows in Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Denmark, France, Spain and the Netherlands, among others. In October 2023, they celebrated their 20th anniversary with a sold-out concert at the Alcatraz Live Club in Milan in front of over 3,200 people.

In the fall of 2023, they toured the USA and Canada for the first time as support for Dragonforce and Amaranthe. This was followed in 2024 by another European tour as headliners with sold-out shows in the UK, Austria, Italy and Germany, as well as appearances as support for Steel Panther on their German tour. In December 2024, they released the double live album “XX Years Of Steel”, including a bonus CD with new songs such as the viral hit “HelloWorld.java”, whose video quickly reached over a million views.

In February and March 2025, they embarked on another successful European tour together with Dynazty.
