Create your own stamps

presented by lorared.illustration

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of stamp art and discover how you can create your very own personalized stamp using simple materials. In this creative workshop, we combine craftsmanship with cultural inspiration—particularly the Japanese tradition of hanko.

In Japan, personal seals (hanko or inkan) have a long history:
They serve as a signature, a means of artistic expression, and even as good-luck charms. Seals are also an important element in Japanese calligraphy and modern design.

Together we’ll explore:
● A brief introduction to Japanese stamp culture (hanko and traditional
seal art).
● Techniques for designing and transferring motifs.
● Materials such as linoleum sheets, erasers, and stamp rubber for creating stamps.
● Carving techniques for beginners (no prior experience required)
● Application of positive and negative printing
● Tips for designing your own motifs in a Japanese-inspired style.

At the end, you’ll take your hand-carved stamp home with you—perfect for personal letters, notebooks, convention mementos, various decorations, or simply as a creative expression of your personality.
